Voting has opened for this year’s Nantwich Food Festival food awards.
The annual awards are a chance for the public to vote for their favourite local outlets that champion produce from Nantwich and the surrounding Cheshire area.
The showpiece presentation evening that recognises the excellence of local businesses is now in its sixth year.
Food Festival Director Roger Mills is delighted how the awards have developed.
He said: “The awards salute the establishments which help to create a positive vibe about Nantwich.
“These businesses showcase our beautiful town and support the local economy by drawing visitors from a wide area.”
The six categories in the food awards are: best restaurant (including hotel restaurant); best pub with food; best cafe or coffee shop; beer champion; food and drink retailer in Nantwich town centre; best food and drink retailer in wider Nantwich area.
The awards acknowledge local suppliers that contribute to the independent artisan food and drinks available around Nantwich.
Many nominees will also have stalls at this year’s Food Festival in September.
Six members of the public can also enjoy a prize.
Anyone who votes for the winner of each category will be entered into a draw to win a £40 voucher to spend at that outlet.
Voting for this year’s awards closes on September 10, with a gala awards night scheduled to take place at Nantwich Town Football Club on Sunday October 2.
