Nantwich Town midfielder Elliott Osborne has signed for League One Fleetwood Town.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who scored 22 goals last season for the Dabbers, will link up with Barry Nicholson’s development squad in a bid to progress into the first team.
Osborne was signed by the Dabbers in the 2014/15 season and went on to win the Young Player of the Year award for that season.
Last season he went on to score 22 goals in all competitions for the club, including 12 from the penalty spot.
This form alerted a number of clubs and Fleetwood have beaten others to secure his signature.
A Nantwich Town spokesman said: “Although Elliott was out of contract at the club, we still feel rightly proud of everything he achieved during his time with the club.
“Everyone at the club would like to thank Elliott for his fantastic service over the last 18 months and wish him all the best as he looks to make an impact in the football league.”
The former Port Vale trainee told Fleetwood Town’s club website he was blown away when he saw the their facilities for the first time.
“Everything is brand new and looking at the training pitches right now, it is superb.
“I have played at non-league level and to see the players the club have helped progress through the leagues, I couldn’t think of anywhere else I would want to go.
“For a League One club to have these types of facilities, I cannot understand why anyone would not want to come here.
“Towards the end of last season I found out Fleetwood were interested in me.
“The chief scout had watched me a few times and a couple of other clubs showed an interest.
“Last year I scored 22 goals in the Evo Stik league from midfield which is not a bad return.
“Now I have joined Fleetwood Town and I can’t wait for it all to begin.”
