Nantwich Film Festival - vintage cinema

Film fans flocked to Nantwich for the town’s second annual Nantwich Film festival – which included a vintage mobile cinema!

The event took place between May 15-21, with a series of screenings and talks at various venues including the Civic Hall and Nantwich Bookshop.

Nantwich’s new Mayor Cllr Penny Butterill and the newly appointed Mayor of Cheshire East Cllr Arthur Moran, attended the opening of the festival, which was organised by Nantwich Film Club.

The club is run by volunteer enthusiasts sand arranges screenings at Nantwich Civic Hall on a 5.7m screen.

The event also featured a quiz night and a short film competition.

But the highlight was the arrival of the popular vintage mobile cinema on the town square on Saturday.

Entries for the short film competition, sponsored by South Cheshire College, were shown and winning trophy presented in Nantwich Civic Hall on the afternoon of the final day of the festival.
