A woman suffered serious injuries in a crash involving an HGV and car on Nantwich Road today (September 7).
She was a passenger in the vehicle when the collision with the lorry happened on the A534 close to Manor Way and the Old Manor pub in Crewe.
An air ambulance flew the injured woman to Royal Stoke University Hospital.
The man who had been driving the car was transported to Leighton Hospital.
Emergency services are at the scene and road closures are in place on the junction with Broughton Lane and Manor Way.
Cheshire Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the smash to come forward as an investigation gets underway.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Motorists are urged to avoid the area and find an alternative route if possible.”
Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire police on 101 quoting incident number 337 of 7 September.
