Crystal Legal Services firm donates to RSPCA Stapeley Grange

Staff at a South Cheshire finance firm have raised more than £2,300 to buy vital equipment for RSPCA Stapeley Grange wildlife centre.

Crystal Legal Services in Crewe handed over a mix of cash and presents to the centre on London Road, Nantwich, following a major fundraising drive.

Staff from the financial claims company raised £2,346, which will help fund rodent scales, ID scanners, aviary nets, heated mats, open air vivariums, bat boxes and more.

CEO of Crystal Legal Services Tony Shields said: “We were over the moon to be able to fulfil RSPCA Nantwich’s wish list and raise some additional money for them.

“The work the staff carries out is phenomenal and the resources are vital to the animals.

“There is always a need, it never eases up which we recognised, that is why our employees nominated this charity to fundraise for.”

Lee Stewart, manager of Stapeley Grange, said: “Crystal Legal Services contacted us back in June saying we had been chosen by their staff as their charity of the quarter and that they would be fundraising from June to September for our animals.

“The end result of all their efforts was funding to help cover daily costs and a whole pile of equipment that we desperately needed in the hospital.

“The company and all their staff have been fantastic – Christmas has come early for our team!

“On behalf of Stapeley Grange, I would like to thank everyone involved. Their support has been very much appreciated.”

The Crystal Legal team held a number of events to raise the money which included a 35-mile “Walk for Wildlife”, bake sales, an ‘unleash your inner animal’ themed fancy dress, a silent auction, a raffle with prizes donated from various different businesses as well as the profits from the company’s tuck shop which also went into the charity pot.

Of the total, £749.84 was raised online and went straight to the charity with the remainder of the money going towards the wish list items.

Stephanie Higson, from Crystal Legal Services, organised the fundraising.

She added: “We all are aware of the great job the RSPCA does but they need money to continue their good work.

“We held a variety of fundraising activities in the past couple of months to ensure we could collect a decent sum of money for this very worthy cause.”
