A man has been arrested after an 89-year-old woman died following a collision with a car on a busy South Cheshire road.
The woman was in collision with a blue Mini on Hungerford Road in Crewe on Sunday (February 18).
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and members of the public also stopped to help until the arrival of ambulance crews.
But the woman died as a result of her injuries in hospital yesterday (February 21).
A 28-year-old man has been arrested and released under investigation on suspicion of driving without due care and attention and driving whilst under the influence of drugs.
Sgt Neil Farnworth said: “We are looking for anyone who may have seen the incident, or its aftermath to come forward to police.
“The collision happened by the pedestrian crossing and we are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to help with the investigation.
