A Jousting Tournament & Melee will be held at Beeston Castle near Nantwich this Bank Holiday weekend.
Jousting goes back to its roots in this no-holds-barred contest of strength, skill and horsemanship.
Marvel at the power of our four daring knights as they battle it out in this authentic 13th century competition.
It’s every man for himself as, with only chainmail and a lance for protection, they compete for victory.
Throughout the day, budding young competitors can join Griffin Historical to take part in junior jousting and the children’s melee.
Children of all ages can join Heathcliff Heroics to test skills in the have a go archery range.
Visit the surgeon who is on hand to help with any aliments, and hear about the gruesome ways he would have treated his patients during Medieval times.
Enjoy the ‘sport of kings’ within the castle grounds with our historical falconers and watch as our jester delights with his outrageous japes and tomfoolery.
The English Heritage fun takes place on Sunday and Monday, May 27-28, from 11am to 5pm.
