More than 25% Leighton Hospital staff abused, bullied or harassed at work

More than a quarter of hospital staff in South Cheshire who took part in a survey said they experienced harassment, bullying or abuse last year.

Figures released by Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Leighton Hospital, show that of 668 employees surveyed 168 said they had experienced harassment, bullying or abuse at work from patients, their relatives or members of the public.

Drone to help tackle crime and incidents in South Cheshire

A new state-of-the-art drone will be used to help police and fire crews tackle crime and incidents in Crewe and Nantwich.

The drone – also known as an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) – will be used during a six month trial to assess its capabilities and inform future plans.

Ofsted inspectors have criticised Cheshire East Council for “serious weaknesses” in its services for youngsters with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).

Now the authority has to provide a ‘Written Statement’ to Ofsted to outline how it intends to improve.

South Cheshire firm FHL Cloud Solutions has raised £1,640 for The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.

The FHL team, based in Crewe, raised the money over a 12-month period by organising events, casual dress days and donating proceeds from the company’s snack bar.
