Jonathan White - 12 years of local community reporting

Keen photographer Jonathan White has clocked up 12 years of community reporting in and around his village of Wistaston.

Jonathan, who works as a learning mentor at Cheshire College – South & West, began submitting articles to the local media back in 2006.

But it was in 2008 when the former Shavington High student first covered Wistaston Fete that he was bitten by the reporting bug.

And ever since then, he has been an amazing contributor to media outlets across South Cheshire, including Nantwich News!

Jonathan, 47, said: “As well as fetes, I have reported at other local events including country fairs, music concerts, duck races, fig pie rolling, worm charming, Christmas lights switch-ons, sports events, fireworks displays, railway shows, gymnastics displays, religious events, charity collections, remembrance parades, bicycle rides, food fairs, cheque presentations, historical re-enactments!

“And I’ve been a club photographer at Nantwich Town FC for the past two seasons.

“I plan to continue my role into the future.”

Nantwich News editor Pete Leydon paid tribute to Jonathan’s work.

“He’s been a fantastic asset, and it’s contributors like Jonathan who make community news sites really successful.

“His photographs are great quality, but Jonathan also provides lots of information with his pictures to help editors like me post really interesting, detailed articles that people love to read.

“And it’s great to hear he will continue – hopefully he’ll still be contributing when Nantwich News celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2019!”
