More than 400 people gathered at Party Gras in Nantwich to celebrate the 30th birthday of St Luke’s Hospice.
The Party Gras charity ball at Dorfold Park was supported by major local businesses including Mornflake, Event Equipment, trCREATIVE, Roberts Bakery and Redrow supporting the event.
Guests embraced the carnival theme with beautiful and elaborate outfits embellished with feather, sequins and even masks.
After enjoying cocktails and food, revellers hit the dance floor to join Brazilian dancers and drummers from the UK’s top Latin showband Tropicalia.
Vice President of St Luke’s and chairman of the Party Gras Committee, Roger Mills MBE, said: “Party Gras brought the colour, flavour, sounds and excitement of the Brazilian carnival to Cheshire – and raised lots of money at the same time.”
Mornflake managing director John Lea, main sponsor, said: “Mornflake were very proud to support the Party Gras event on Friday 27th July in aid of St Luke’s.
“The evening dinner was supported by Mornflake along with Oatey biscuits for the cheese course made with their signature Oats.”
St Luke’s Chairman of Trustees, Mike Ridley, added: “I might be biased, but Party Gras was one of the best events I have been to, and to top it all off I understand that our generous guests and sponsors have helped to raise more that £50,000!
“As Chair of St Luke’s, it is my pleasure to sincerely thank everyone who has supported the event and raised such a significant amount of money for the charity, thank you.”
Andrew Pass, from John Pass Jewellers in Crewe, donated a prize worth more than £10,000.
He said: “We are so proud to celebrate our 70th anniversary this year and to be able to give back to St Luke’s and the community for all the loyalty that they have shown to us over the years.”
Also launched on the night was AT 30 gin, a limited edition, celebratory, small batch gin made possible thanks to the generous support of Rodney Densem Wines, where all profits of will go directly to St Luke’s.
Rodney Densem director Nick Gent said: “Rodney Densem Wines are proud to be associated with St Luke’s and their 30th birthday Party Gras event.
