Wistaston Community Council - Christmas Concert 2018

Wistaston Community Council’s annual ‘Christmas Concert’ took place at St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Lane, Wistaston, writes Jonathan White.

It featured Wells Green Choir led by Myra Wood, Shavington Academy Music Ensemble led by John Clarke and Wistaston Church Lane Academy Choir led by Helen Collett.

Carol’s sung by the audience were ‘Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’, ‘Jingle Bells’, ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ and ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’.

Festive refreshments were available during the interval. There was a prize raffle.

The event was also attended by Mayor of Cheshire East Borough Councillor Lesley Smetham and her Consort David Smetham.

The event was also supported by members of Wistaston Community Council, Wells Green Choir, The Woodside public house, H. Clewlow Butchers, Shavington Academy, Wistaston Church Lane Academy and Wistaston Co-op.

Wistaston Community Council needs new members to help organise next year’s Christmas Concert, as well as other Wistaston-based events such as the Spring concert, Summer Fete, Flower and Produce Show and the Fireworks Display.
