Nantwich Town’s Weaver Stadium ground has been selected in the final three for the Greenfields Pitch of the Season Award, writes Steve Sharman.
The Dabbers are up against South Shields and Bamber Bridge in the Premier Division with the chosen finalists selected by fellow clubs on an online vote.
Greenfields have arranged pitch inspections at the clubs which will take place between March 27-29.
The shortlisted pitches will be judged on clegg and moisture results, visibility of lines, overall grass coverage, quality of grass in goal mouth areas and overall surface stability.
Judges will also interview each groundsman on various aspects of the pitch and maintaining it.
The three winners (one winner per division) will be announced at the League’s End of Season Awards on June 15 in Blackpool.
A trophy and a £500 voucher to redeem against maintenance materials and services from Greenfields will be presented to the winners.
