“The Very Best In Stand Up” returns to Nantwich Civic Hall on June 7 with another top line-up for the final show of the season.
The first act of the evening is Junior Simpson, a circuit favourite.
Simpson has a boundless joy and exuberance that has audiences hooked with hilarity.
An observational comic, he finds his humour in the everyday and humdrum with anecdotes of his world travels as a comedian adding a personal originality to his set.
Next up is Pierre Novellie, one of the best up-and-coming comedians in the UK.
Pierre is a regular correspondent in BBC2’s The Mash Report hosted by Nish Kumar and performed on the most recent series of Stand Up Central on Comedy Central.
He had a regular role in the Channel 4 Comedy Blap, Outsiders, as well as appearing in the Joke Thieves pilot for BBC2 opposite Marcus Brigstocke, BBC3’s Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live and 4OD’s comedy series Taxi Gags and a guest on Frank Skinner’s Radio 4 panel show The Rest is History.
An acclaimed live act, he has supported Hal Cruttenden and Gary Delaney on national tours and was nominated for Best Club Comic at the 2017 Chortle Awards for two years running.
Last up is fan favourite Dan Nightingale, one of the country’s top headline comedians who was last seen headlining the New Year’s Eve comedy show back in 2017.
Dan began his comedy career in Newcastle back in 2002, and has since gone on to become one of the most recognisable faces on the North West Comedy circuit.
As well as being a top-class headline act and MC, Dan has also performed regular TV warm up for the likes of Jonathan Ross, John Bishop and Celebrity Juice.
Widely admired for his observational wit and killer punchlines, Dan’s comedy is original, playful, intelligent, poignant and exciting – sometimes ridiculous, but always hilarious.
Compere and host is Mike Wilkinson.
A professional comic for over 10 years, Mike has supported such comedy greats as Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas, Ross Noble and Jason Manford.
Overflowing with down to earth Northern charm, Mike has a wonderful laid-back style.
The laughs come thick and fast with Wilkinson’s dry humour and razor sharp wit… but hecklers beware, that cheeky grin can lash out and crush a heckler at lightning speed.
As well as being very funny, Mike is also a talented musician and plays the piano and guitar.
When he’s not killing it on the comedy scene, he can be found working on his farm rearing his own hens, and often brings a gift of a few fresh eggs to the show.
Tickets are on sale now priced at £10.
They are available from Nantwich Civic Hall direct or from www.civiccomedy.co.uk
Doors open at 7.15pm and the show starts at 8.15pm.
