Full-time - Nantwich Town Manager Dave Cooke celebrates victory with the fans (1)

Nantwich will next face fellow BetVictor Northern Premier Division side Bamber Bridge in the re-arranged Buildbase FA Trophy First Round Qualifying.

Tomorrow night’s (October 29) tie was postponed on Saturday after heavy rain left the pitch water-logged.

Dave Cooke’s side will be looking to improve their recent record in the Trophy, after defeats in the First Round Qualifying in the last two years, to Stalybridge Celtic and Rushall Olympic respectively.

However, the Dabbers have enjoyed some great runs in the Buildbase FA Trophy in the past, their best effort coming under Phil Parkinson in the 2015/16 season.

They beat several teams, including Ashton United, Stockport County and Stourbridge, before beating National League side Dover Athletic 2-1 to reach the Semi-Final stage for the first time in the club’s history.

The Dabbers fell just short in the semi-final, losing 6-4 on aggregate to National League side Halifax Town in front of a record crowd at the Weaver Stadium of 2,078 people in the home tie.

The last three meetings between Nantwich and Bamber Bridge have resulted in two 2-2 draws and a 2-0 home victory for the Dabbers.

Previous results aside, the two teams come into the fixture in very different form.

The Dabbers sit 9th in the table, having beaten King’s Lynn in the FA Cup Fourth Round Qualifying.

Bamber Bridge sit bottom of the table, having lost 2-1 at home to Scarborough Athletic at the weekend.

The tie at the Weaver Stadium will kick off at 7.45pm. Ticket prices remain the same (£11/£8/£3).
