A Nantwich businessman is embarking on an indoor cycle ride for charity – to raise funds local NHS trusts.
Like many Tim Bowker, who runs Nantwich Refrigeration Services, wanted to give something back to NHS workers on the COVID-19 frontline.
So while stuck indoors, he decided to dust of his exercise bike and get pedalling as friends and family donated.
“It started out as every £1 I had donated to my cause, I would ride a mile up to 100 miles. But within 36 hours I’d raised £400!” said Tim.
“It currently stands at £1,240 raised – and I’ve done 250 miles in eight days!
“I’m now planning to ride 500 miles.
“If I can get to £2000+ and the lockdown will let me, I’m riding Lands End to John O’groats 1084 miles.
“I’ve not cycled for 2 yrs and very much at my heaviest!”
Money Tim raises will go to Leighton Hospital, Clatterbridge Cancer Hospital, Alzheimer’s UK and the Kidney unit at Royal Stoke Hospital.
Anyone can give a little to Tim to help his cause. You can donate by visiting his Facebook Page here and visiting “Tim’s Medical Ride” post.
