Cheshire Senior Cup holders Nantwich Town have been given a bye into the next round.

The Dabbers are among seven teams to be given a bye through to round two which is not scheduled to take place until January.

And another team may be given a bye after news that Macclesfield Town is to be wound up over unpaid debts. They were due to play Cammell Laird in round one.

Other teams given a bye are Chester FC, Hyde United, Runcorn Linnets, Stockport County, Vauxhall Motors and Warrington Town.

Meanwhile, Nantwich are set to play their first competitive game for 189 days this weekend.

They kick off their 2020-21 Northern Premier League campaign away at FC United of Manchester – six months since the Dabbers played their last competitive match at home to South Shields.

Nantwich make the trip to Broadhurst Park ton Saturday.

Due to COVID guidelines the maximum capacity is 500.

Nantwich have been given just 90 tickets, they have now gone on general sale.

Saturday’s hosts had a successful season last time out, as they were sat comfortably in second place before the FA pulled the plug on the league.

This was largely thanks to the performances of Tunde Owolabi who finished as the highest scorer in the league with 28 goals.

However he has moved to Scotland to play for Scottish Premier league side, Hamilton Academical.

FC United are one of the favorites for promotion so Dave Cooke’s men will have to be at their best.

The last meeting between the two sides ending in defeat for The Dabbers last seaosn.
