Spire Cheshire Hospital has raised more than £400 for Cheshire Community Foundation’s COVID Appeal.

Staff raised £445 in total for the appeal which was launched earlier this year to support local charities impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Some of the Cheshire charities supported by the appeal include St Rocco’s Hospice, Age UK, The Joshua Tree, Cheshire Young Carers, Deafness Support Network, Hampers of Hope, and Claire House Children’s Hospice.

The Spire Cheshire staff took part in random acts including sending postcards with kind messages to colleagues and purchasing gifts with inspirational quotes to cheer up friends and loved ones.

The fundraising coincided with World Kindness Day (November 13) making it the ideal opportunity to inspire kind acts and give to the charities most in need of support.

Andrew Johnson, Director of Spire Cheshire Hospital, said: “We’re always looking for ways to support our local community, and there are hundreds of great charities throughout Cheshire in urgent need of funding during this difficult time.

“The Cheshire Community Foundation’s COVID Appeal helps the most vulnerable people affected by the pandemic, and the team here at Spire Cheshire had a great time raising money and spreading some joy and kindness around the hospital.”
