South Cheshire Military Modelling Club’s annual ‘Universal Model Show’ has been cancelled this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, writes Jonathan White.
The event would have taken place at Malbank School & Sixth Form College, Nantwich in February 2021.
The event would have featured several scale-model clubs displays, remote-control truck and tank demonstrations, military weaponry displays, a scale-model competition with different classes, war games demonstrations, fighting robots, a LEGO display, wartime dioramas, movie and science fiction figure displays, numerous trade stalls, real military vehicles, and people in costume from the military, movies and sci-fi.
Steve Morris, South Cheshire Military Modelling Club, said: “It’s a shame to cancel an event that has run uninterrupted for over 30 years.
“However, in a bid to join the efforts against the current pandemic we have no hesitation in cancelling this event to support keeping people safe.
“Our thanks go out to all frontline workers and we hope for a better tomorrow where we can once again see each other safely.
“We hope to welcome you back in 2022.”
