Councillor calls for SEND funding review as Cheshire East misses out

A councillor has called for a review of the funding formula which sees Cheshire East allocated just a third of the amount some other councils receive for children with special needs.

Cllr Laura Crane, chair of Cheshire East’s children and families committee, is urging all councillors to lobby their MPs to ensure the funding formula is revisited as soon as possible.

Plans to open a Burger King fast food outlet at a Nantwich petrol station have been ditched, according to latest reports.

But Motor Fuel Group still plan to open a Greggs takeaway branch under amended proposals for its filling station at Morrisons supermarket on Pratchett’s Row.

Councillors back “motion” calling for police to shelve PCSO plans

Cheshire East Council is urging the county’s Chief Constable to scrap plans which could see up to 70% of the county’s PCSOs axed.

All but one of the 69 councillors present at the latest full council backed a notice of motion from Wybunbury Cllr Janet Clowes and Cllr Julie Smith calling for plans to axe 60 of the 87 roles to be rescinded.
