A South Cheshire charity has issued an appeal for more volunteers to help out those in need.

Emerging Futures (EF), established in 2014, works with homeless people, rough sleepers, offenders, and people with mental health problems or substance dependencies who are at risk of homelessness.

Cheshire East Council has given permission for the school on Welsh Row to expand, with work expected to begin later this year.

Cledford Hall is again being considered as a transit site for gypsies and travellers as Cheshire East Council deals with a rise in illegal encampments.

Cheshire East Council gained planning permission for a transit site at Cledford Hall, in Middlewich, back in 2015 – but that lapsed last year after no work had begun on the site within three years.

Visitors to this year’s Pride in the Park in South Cheshire will be able to use free transport to and from the event.
