South Cheshire friends cycle the 922-mile Rhine for Bloodwise charity

Saddle-sore cyclists Ben Reinhardt and Jim Forkin pedalled all 922 miles of the River Rhine to raise money for blood cancer charities.

The friends, from Willaston and Crewe, started their “Riding the River Rhine” adventure at the source of the Rhine in the Swiss Alps at Lake Toma.

Nantwich’s Age UK shop in Swine Market is calling on local people to sign up as a volunteer to support the charity’s work with older people.

Age UK has over 420 shops across the UK, and 98% of volunteers who work said they would recommend working for the charity.

Workers at a Nantwich finance firm raised more than £11,000 for Kidney Research UK after tackling the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge.

Employees at Afford Bond, on Wellington Road, walked 23 miles on a circular route over three peaks with more than 5,000ft of ascent in just 12 hours!
