A service and parade to commemorate the death of pilot Arthur Brown and to present him with the “Freedom of Nantwich” honour took place (January 14).

Cheshire East Council could fail to rake in the £4m it hoped from its garden waste collections because less than two thirds of residents needed have so far subscribed.
As from this month, garden waste will only be collected if residents have paid the new annual £56 subscription fee.
Cash-strapped Cheshire East Council is proposing another 4.99% rise in Council Tax from April – as well as a range of other cost-cutting measures to existing services.
