Town and parish councils like Nantwich will soon be able to pay for extra policing under the commissioner’s ‘hotspot policing programme’.

Cheshire Police and Crime commissioner Dan Price told a police and crime panel he wanted to “support local communities through the ability to purchase additional visible hot spot policing”.

Cheshire East has come under fire because the last three meetings of the full council were held at Jodrell Bank, and the one prior to that was at Tatton Park.
