Staff at a children’s centre near Nantwich are appealing for the donation of soft toys for Christmas. The Wingate Centre in Wrenbury gives out thousands of toys to children who stay at the centre throughout the year.
Attractions near Nantwich are celebrating after scooping top prizes at the Marketing Cheshire 2012 annual awards. The Yew Tree Inn, in Bunbury, won the Tourism Pub of the Year, while nearby Peckforton Castle (pictured) was crowned Hotel of the Year.
Contestants tested their endurance to the limit in a “Tough Mudder” event held at Cholmondeley Castle near Nantwich. Around 7,500 competitors lined up to take on a 12-mile Cheshire assault course, including 22 obstacles, ice baths, electric shocks, fire, and miles of mud.
