A fund to support a Wistaston boy suffering from a rare form of bone cancer has been given a £2,000 boost thanks to a novice Nantwich runner!
Ed Potts began training for the London Marathon earlier this year and when the event was cancelled due to Covid he ran around South Cheshire instead to raise money for Georgy Capener.

The talented 16-year-old from Wistaston wrote the single from her bedroom, and the alt-pop song explores an imagined reality and desire to feel something.

Remembrance Sunday Services were held “virtually” yesterday to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
More “virtual” Remembrance Sunday services are being held across Crewe and Nantwich as real services have had to be cancelled because of Covid lockdown.
Nantwich Town Council announced earlier this week they would be streaming the service live from St Mary’s Church in Nantwich.

A Remembrance Day poppy cascade and silhouetted soldiers are on display in front of Wistaston Memorial Hall.
The display was loaned to the village by the 35th (Wistaston) Scout Group.

The Wistaston and Rope War Memorial Project will be officially opened on Remembrance Sunday if government Covid-19 guidelines allow.
The names of 16 local men who died in the two World Wars are commemorated on the Memorial cross in the grounds of St Mary’s Church, Wistaston.
A primary school in Wistaston has had to send a whole year group home to isolate after one pupil tested positive for Covid-19.
Staff at Wistaston Church Lane Academy acted swiftly and all pupils in Year One are now having to isolate at home for 14 days.
Cheshire Police has unveiled its new “community policing” model with “dedicated officers and PCSOs” in 122 community areas.
It will include new police bases in community and village halls in and around Nantwich.

The Rising Sun Nurseries garden centre on Middlewich Road has reopened its premises and charity shop, as Covid-19 pandemic lockdown measures are eased.

There were three fixtures during the day. Under 11s v Under 9s (15 over game), Ladies vs Under 15s (100 ball game) and current players vs past players (100 ball game).
