Sixteen teams battled it out over six rounds of ten questions at Wistaston Memorial Hall’s annual quiz for the Fred Lorimer trophy.
The quiz-setters were Peter and Christina Wainwright who had organised their second quiz at the hall.

The Wistaston Jubilee Tennis Club (WJTC) Finals Day has taken place on two courts behind Wistaston Memorial Hall & Community Centre on Church Lane.
Bill Heath, WJTC chairman, introduced the presentation of trophies inside the Memorial Hall.

Lloyd Turner, aged 50, from Charlton Avenue, in Hereford, has been charged with kidnap, section 18 assault and robbery.
A man was badly beaten in a “serious and sustained” attack linked to a house in Wistaston, near Nantwich.
The victim, aged 35, is being treated in hospital after the assault.
