Unvaccinated Cheshire East Council staff who take time off work to self-isolate as a close contact of a Covid-19 case won’t be classed as being off sick.

From yesterday (August 16), people who are double jabbed or aged under 18 are no longer legally required to self-isolate if they are identified as a close contact of a positive Covid-19 case.

A South Cheshire grandmother who lost all of her possessions in the Beechmere retirement complex fire two years ago has won a top-of-the-range car in a competition.

Susan Podmore, 73, lived in at Beechmere in Crewe when it caught fire and collapsed in 2019 causing more than 100 elderly people to lose their homes and belongings.
