Frost hits Crewe Sunday League as most games postponed

The weather took its toll in the Crewe Regional Sunday League following two or three nights of sharp frost.

Just a handful of games were played with many local pitches not fit to play on.

A long-awaited development that will transform a busy part of Nantwich has been given the green light from councillors – despite some concerns over flood risk.

At Wednesday’s meeting, Cheshire East Council’s southern planning committee voted to approve plans for 31 apartments plus a hotel, restaurants and shops at the former gasworks off Welsh Row.
