Cheshire Police have vowed to crackdown on alcohol misuse in Nantwich and other towns as part of a week-long initiative.
Officers will be carrying out activities all week including licensing checks and compliance of alcohol exclusion zones.
Nantwich venues are signing up to a new initiative targeting alcohol-related crime and disorder in the town. The ArcAngel Protected Towns Initiative, being rolled out across Cheshire, requires premises to meet criteria designed to promote responsible drinking and public safety.
Police in Nantwich are hoping to earn the town ArcAngel status by signing up pub bosses to a safer drinking charter. ArcAngel, which aims to tackle alcohol-related crime, is run by Cheshire Police and agencies including local councils, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and NHS trusts.
