Police and council officials were called in to move a group of travellers off Barony Park in Nantwich.
The travellers with seven or eight vehicles and caravans, were spotted setting up on a corner of the park near Birchin Lane.
A special King’s Shilling Walk and picnic are being held in Nantwich and Crewe to commemorate 100 years since the start of the First World War.
Crewe and Nantwich & District Branches of The Royal British Legion are organising the King’s Shilling Walk and Edwardian themed picnic on Sunday August 3.

A team of workers who took part in the North West Triathlon in Nantwich, raised more than £6,000 in honour of their boss. The 37-strong team from Health Shield, who were among 900 competitors, participated in aid of Beating Bowel Cancer.
Eighteen volunteers of Nantwich Litter Group blitzed rubbish in the Barony area of the town. Workers tidied Barony Park, Barony Road, Middlewich Road up to the A500 roundabout, and smaller nearby roads.
A Nantwich school scooped glory in the annual Town Sports contest on the town’s Barony Park. Pear Tree Primary, in Stapeley, were crowned overall winners after two intense days of competition involving 29 schools across Crewe and Nantwich.
Hundreds of competitors and thousands of spectators helped make the latest Cheshire Triathlon in Nantwich a huge success. There were 980 entrants competing in seven different categories of race in a sun-drenched Barony Park and surrounding area.
The Barony Park in Nantwich will be a hive of activity when the 21st Cheshire Triathlon comes to town. More than 1,000 competitors and their families will line the park for the June 2 anniversary event.

Work to revamp Nantwich Pool is to start before Christmas for seven months. The refurbishment includes a new fitness studio, larger fitness suite with new equipment, a new reception, a new entrance with better access, and refurbished changing rooms including a family changing area.
The first purpose-built Freerunning park in the North West has been opened in Nantwich. The facility on Barony Park was planned by The Nantwich Freerunners group with help from Cheshire East Council.
Nantwich Litter Group is planning further blitzes on rubbish as the town prepares to welcome Britain in Bloom judges. The tean held its latest “Group Pick” in the Barony Park area, led by team leader Joyce Webb.
Nantwich Litter Group will be holding a “Group Pick” on Tuesday July 3 on Barony Park. Volunteers are asked to meet at 10am in the car park on Barony Road and make a clean sweep around the area.
