At our first attempt to stand for Parliament we were able to beat two long-established national parties.

Labour kicked off its election campaign in Crewe and Nantwich by wheeling in one of the big guns as it fights to snatch back the seat from the Conservatives.
Shadow attorney general Emily Thornberry was in Crewe yesterday (Tuesday) to support local parliamentary candidate Connor Naismith, who is hoping to overturn a Conservative majority of 8,508.

264 cat cruelty complaints in Cheshire in 2022, says RSPCA
There were 264 cat cruelty complaints made in Cheshire last year, new figures from the RSPCA show.
And nationally, there were almost 18,000 cat cruelty complaints reported, with 1,726 logged as intentional harm incidents.
Former Shavington Youth Centre to be auctioned
The Victorian former schoolhouse and youth centre in Shavington has been put up for auction despite a two-year campaign by local councillors and MP Kieran Mullan to save it.
The building has stood vacant for over two years but efforts to retain it as a community asset have failed.
