Nantwich Cricket Club’s charge up the Cheshire County Premier League came to an abrupt halt when they were emphatically beaten by top-of-the-table Didbsury.
Ray Doyle’s first team looked to be in with a good chance of chasing down 270 when they were 155-4 and Luke Robinson was at the crease.
Nantwich CC 1sts suffered a home drubbing at the hands of Marple, slumping to a 160-run defeat. The hosts, chasing 245, which skittled out for just 85 runs as they failed to deal with a potent away attack.
For the second time in a week Nantwich CC’s bid to get their league campaign back on track was scuppered by rain. Not a single ball was bowled in their home game against Widnes at Whitehouse Lane, both teams taking seven points.
