Work is under way to improve services for youngsters with special educational needs (SEN) in Cheshire East following a damning inspection last year.
Cheshire East Council and local NHS providers were criticised following a joint inspection from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Ofsted last March – with inspectors hitting out at ‘serious weaknesses’ in provision.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been rated “Good” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following inspections of its services and leadership.
It’s the second consecutive time the Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital, has received the rating.
A Nantwich care home which was plunged into controversy after the death of one of its missing dementia patients, has been ruled “inadequate” after its latest inspection.
And it has emerged that Brookfield House Care Home, on Shrewbridge Road, is now the centre of a police and local authority investigation into allegations of neglect.

Two employees at a Nantwich care home where dementia patient Roy Tomlinson went missing, have been suspended after a SECOND disappearance.
Mr Tomlinson (pictured) was allowed to walk out of Brookfield House care home on January 26, and was found dead in a nearby outbuilding six days later.
