Thousands of people young and old packed Nantwich town square to enjoy the annual Christmas Lights Switch On event.
Organised by Nantwich Town Council, the switch on involved several hours of entertainment before VIP youngsters took to the stage to turn on the festive lights.

A Christmas Tree Festival took place at St Mary’s Church in Acton near Nantwich at the weekend.
There was a grand opening on Friday with a guest appearance from Father Christmas, followed by a ‘Mingle and Jingle’ charity Christmas concert.

The 62nd Cancer Research UK ‘Xmas Fair’ at Wistaston Memorial Hall has helped raise more than £3,700.
The event was organised by the Crewe & Nantwich Cancer Research UK Group.
Shoppers have the chance to buy original gifts from local craftspeople at a Christmas Artisan Market being held at Reaseheath College in Nantwich.
The market will be staged on Saturday December 2, when the college’s mini zoo will also be open with a special visit from Father Christmas.
Father Christmas is taking time off from his busy schedule to meet and hand out presents to youngsters at his Nantwich Grotto. He has once again set up a branch of his Grotto upstairs in the attic of the Nantwich Bookshop on High Street, in the town square.
