The US nephew of the hero war pilot Arthur Brown said he was “overwhelmed” by the moving tributes and service held in Nantwich on Sunday.
Christopher Maus, nephew of Lieutenant Brown, travelled across to Nantwich from America to mark the 80th anniversary since Lt Brown died.
A service and parade to commemorate the death of pilot Arthur Brown and to present him with the “Freedom of Nantwich” honour took place (January 14).
Family, dignitaries and service personnel attended the event, including Lt Brown’s living relatives from America.
The pilot who diverted his World War Two plane away from Nantwich town centre before crashing close to the river, is to be honoured with the Freedom of Nantwich.
Sunday January 14 2024 will mark the 80th anniversary of Lieutenant Arthur Lesley Brown’s act of bravery.
