Europe is on the brink of war and we find that the Forresters, after losing everything in the Depression, have moved to Liverpool to rebuild their lives.
The acclaimed Helen Forrester play “By The Waters Of Liverpool” reaches the shores of Crewe Lyceum next week with a star-studded cast of nine.
It is running for eight weeks across the UK and plays in South Cheshire on Monday and Tuesday September 18-19.

The show comes to South Cheshire as part of its UK Tour and arrives three years after the original tour was abandoned in 2020 because of Covid.
A new stage adaptation of Helen Forrester’s Twopence To Cross The Mersey begins at Crewe Lyceum today (September 21) and runs for four days.
Based on the late author’s million-selling autobiography, the play written by Rob Fennah chronicles Helen’s early life during The Great Depression in 1930s Liverpool.
