Cheshire people serving their communities have received awards in the delayed Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
They include Graham Witter, who for the past seven years has raised huge amounts of money for a children’s hospice in memory of his sister.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service has had zero deaths in accidental house fires in the last year 2018-19.
It’s the first time the service has achieved the milestone.
Cheshire’s newly appointed Chief Fire Officer Mark Cashin said it was a “real honour” to be selected for the post.
Mr Cashin, currently Cheshire’s Deputy Chief Fire Officer, was selected to become the service’s new Chief Fire Officer & Chief Executive after an interview panel and confirmation at a Cheshire Fire Authority meeting.
