A £12,500 project to improve a War Memorial in memory of 16 local men who died in the two World Wars has been completed in Wistaston.
An area around the Wistaston & Rope War Memorial in the grounds of St Mary’s Church on Church Lane has been modernised and made safer to visit.
A young Wistaston couple arranged a wedding in just two hours – so they could tie the knot before the UK went into Coronavirus “lockdown”!
Key workers Alana Sandland, 27, and Joe Dunn, 26, were due to be married at St Mary’s in Wistaston on April 4.
By Jonathan White Villagers were out in force to enjoy the annual Wistaston Village Fete near Nantwich. The event, organised by Wistaston Community Council and took place in the grounds of St Mary’s Church Rectory, in Church Lane.
Residents, councillors, and members of the Royal British Legion packed into Wistaston Memorial Hall for Remembrance Service. They were joined by members of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers from the Wistaston 35th SWC Scout Group.
