Rail fans were kept on track at the South Cheshire Model Engineering Society annual open day.
The free event took place at the society’s premises behind the Peacock Hotel, on Crewe Road, Willaston.
Nantwich commuters face rail travel disruption when they return to work on Monday – with all Arriva Trains Wales services cancelled due to strike action.
A planned 24-hour strike by Arriva Trains Wales drivers, as part of a dispute over pay and conditions, looks set to go ahead.
Rail passengers in Nantwich have been left high and dry for a week with all services between Crewe and Shrewsbury cancelled for engineering work.
Services stopped on Saturday (November 28) and will not be back on until Monday December 7.
Rail users in Nantwich and surrounding villages are being warned of timetable changes by Arriva Trains Wales next month.
ATW says the changes, from May 17 onwards, will improve service and frequency “for many passengers”.
Furious rail passengers were left seething when their train was delayed – after the driver appeared to leave his conductor stranded at Nantwich station.
Passengers say the 4.17pm service from Nantwich to Whitchurch had to reverse back to Nantwich station.
Crewe and Nantwich residents can have their say on the planned high-speed HS2 rail link for South Cheshire. The Government announced its preferred route last month, which includes a high-speed service from Crewe to London in 58 minutes.
A link to the planned HS2 railway has been welcomed by a South Cheshire rail passenger group boss. But John Coult, acting chair of the Crewe and Shrewsbury Passenger Association (CASPA), also warned against it overshadowing local rail improvements.
