Detectives are hunting a couple after a man was stabbed in the back as he walked down Nantwich Road in Crewe.
The 40-year-old victim had got into an argument with a man and woman in the street when he was then attacked and stabbed by the man, police said.

A South Cheshire music venue will be demolished as part of plans to build a five-storey car park close to Crewe railway station.
Cheshire East Council’s strategic planning board has given the green light for a 243-space car park to be built behind the locally-listed Royal Hotel, in Nantwich Road – complete with a car wash.
The future of one of South Cheshire’s only live music venues remains in doubt today.
The Box, at the rear of The Royal Hotel in Crewe, could be demolished to make way for future development, according to regular users.
