Thousands of people young and old paid tribute to fallen heroes at a series of Remembrance Day services in South Cheshire.
Towns, villages, schools and colleges staged services throughout the weekend to mark Armistice Day.
Friends, colleagues and dignitaries gathered in Nantwich to pay tribute to Cllr Arthur Moran who has served the town for 30 years.
Hundreds attended a special celebration for Cllr Moran at Nantwich Civic Hall.
A bus service which operates between Nantwich and Crewe will now run six days a week throughout the year, after Cheshire East Council provided more funding.
The 44 service, which links the two towns, had been reduced to a “term time” only Monday to Friday timetable by operator GHA Coaches.

Parades and services were held in both Crewe and Nantwich town centres as families remembered those who have fallen in conflict over the last 100 years.
Volunteers at Nantwich’s local Macmillan Cancer Unit have won a national award for their long service in supporting cancer sufferers.
Gill Pass and Lorna Lakey were presented with a Bronze Five-Year Service Award for their time at Leighton Hospital’s Macmillan centre by Mayor Pam Minshall and Macmillan senior development manager Nicola Cook.
A remembrance service will take place next week to celebrate lives of children and babies born at Leighton Hospital. The annual service, organised by Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT), is at St Peter’s Church in Minshull Vernon on Saturday November 10 at 3pm.
A memorial service to remember patients who died in one of the critical care units at Leighton Hospital is to be held. The ‘Forget Me Not’ service is taking place on Sunday September 30, in the South Cheshire hospital’s chapel.
