Nantwich woman wins Words and Music Festival songwriting contest

A Nantwich woman has won the Words & Music Festival’s first songwriting competition.

Abbie Frances scooped top prize and along with second and third place, she performed at The Crown Hotel in Nantwich on the final night of the week-long festival.

Organisers of the Nantwich Words & Music Festival are to stage the event’s first songwriting competition to mark its tenth year.

And the contest will be judged by industry experts, including BBC Radio 6 Music’s Early Breakfast Show host Chris Hawkins (pictured).
