Councillors in Nantwich have hit out at detailed plans unveiled for the Kingsley Fields 1,000-home development in the town.

North West Nantwich Consortium already has outline planning permission for the site which borders River Weaver, Waterlode, the A51 and Welshmans Lane.

New £7 million road linking A500 and Gresty Road to be unveiled

The new £7million road linking the A500 at Shavington with Gresty Road in Crewe is to be unveiled on Monday (July 27).

The 0.7-mile Basford West Spine Road will be named Jack Mills Way, after the late train driver from Crewe who was attacked during the notorious Great Train Robbery in 1963.

Two major road schemes to improve the A500 from Nantwich to M6, and access to Crewe town centre, have been approved by the Government. More than £6.5 million will be spent widening the A500 single lane approach to junction 16, and on a new Basford West Spine road.
