Wistaston won a Gold Award in the Town category at the 2023 RHS Britain in Bloom UK Finals, the country’s largest community gardening competition.
Wistaston in Bloom members Bill and Helen Heath and Diane Edge-Robinson and Wistaston Parish Council Cllr Diane Houston attended the ceremony at RHS Lindley Hall in London.
The popular running and sportswear shop Running Bear is set to open a new store in Nantwich town centre.
The store is opening in the former Hays Travel and Thomas Cooke unit on the corner of Oat Market.
Young vandals have smashed up Nantwich town centre’s replica “pillory” just off Pillory Street today (May 1).
Furious Nantwich Town Cllr Stuart Bostock said the incident was just another example of “anti-social behaviour blighting our town”.

Crewe looks set to get a new smaller police station in town and a larger out-of-town base for CID officers, other departments and civilian staff.
Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer said he was out and about in the town centre looking for possible premises with members of the Crewe Town Board last week.

Crewe is the most dangerous major town in Cheshire. Crime in Crewe is 48% higher than the regional crime rate in the North West. And crime in Crewe is 22% higher than the national crime rate.

Footfall in the ‘half demolished’ Crewe has increased by 36% but fallen by 5% in Knutsford, according to latest Cheshire East figures.
Figures show Crewe has increased footfall more than any other town, with Nantwich second with an increase of 26%.
Green-fingered volunteers in Nantwich scooped gold after the town was named as joint overall winner in North West in Bloom.

Anybody who has tried to cross a road in a town or village will have been faced with drivers that don’t ‘let’ you cross the road.

The Nantwich Poets group is to host Joy Winkler’s acclaimed touring drama, TOWN. The performance will take place at Willaston Social Club on Wednesday September 25 as part of TOWN’s Autumn Tour of the UK.
