A college is calling on Nantwich families to help provide a temporary home for visiting international students.
South Cheshire College will be hosting 12 students from Thailand in April for six weeks.
They will study an English language course as well as other cultural activities Monday to Friday.
Now the college has teamed up with Homestayfriend to find local hosts to provide accommodation for the students.
Families in Crewe and Nantwich who host the Thai students will also receive payment, and a chance to share their home and town with an international visitor.
Victoria Arnold, director of Homestayfriend, said: “It’s an excellent opportunity for the local community to benefit from South Cheshire College and support their international expansion.
“Homestay provides the perfect way for residents to make a supplementary extra income from their spare room and embrace cultural exchange.”
Homestay would like hosts who can provide either:
– breakfast and 5 evening meals per week (you are paid £135 per week)
– breakfast and 7 evening meals per week (£162 per week)
They should also provide students with a private bedroom, access to bathroom, kitchen and laundry facilities, and a key to the home.
Hosts also need to be happy to talk with the students to help practice their English, and offer a friendly, welcoming environment.
All hosts require a CRB check, paid for by South Cheshire College.
