Wistaston Singers took their talents on the road when they travelled from South Cheshire to South Shropshire.
They performed an evening concert in Ludlow at the Methodist Church in Broad Street.
Musical director Phil Houghton introduced each song and soloist, with Jane Hale the accompanist.
The choir sang a string of famous songs including Sing a Song of Sixpence (Diack), Someone to Watch over Me (Berlin), With Cat-Like Tread (Gilbert & Sullivan), Tambourin (Gossec), The Heavens Are Telling (Haydn), You’ll Never Walk Alone (Rodgers & Hammerstein), Jerusalem (Parry), Ave Verum (Mozart), and Sweet is Thy Work (Parker), and a selection of songs from Les Miserables.
Soloists were Jane Hale (flute) and Chris White (ukulele).
Phil said: “The choir had a wonderful visit to Ludlow, with time to explore this beautiful town before performing a concert in the evening which was greeted with warm applause.”
Wistaston Singers were formed by members of the choir at St Mary’s Parish Church in May 2000. There are now 35 members singing four-part harmony music.
They perform up to five concerts a year at various venues in South Cheshire and beyond and are also invited to perform at weddings in the area.
Choir rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
