Police are warning car owners in Nantwich after a spate of opportunist thefts from vehicles in the town.
Two of the incidents happened in broad daylight with cars left unlocked, say officers.
One happened on a communal car park on Holland Walk, Kingsley Village, Nantwich, with another from a car parked on a residential driveway on Crewe Road, Willaston.
It’s believed the cars were left unlocked with offenders striking lucky while trying vehicle doors. These happened on October 23.
A third incident happened 24 hours earlier on Williamson Drive, Nantwich, when thieves approached a house in darkness.
They got into the car and stole property from the arm rest and passenger seat.
A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: “As the nights draw in and darkness prevails the opportunity for vehicle crime will increase as there are less people out and about to deter the opportunist thief.
“I would therefore like to appeal to all Neighbourhood Watch members to remain vigilant throughout the winter months and continue to report any suspicious activity to the police.”
