A Nantwich photographer has helped put together an inspiring calendar to raise awareness of children’s disabilities.
Simon Newbury teamed up with the The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) to create the project.
Simon, the official photographer for Nantwich Town FC, got the idea after meeting Lorraine Standring and her son Adam.
He said: “I know charity calendars are popular at this time of the year so threw the idea over to Lorraine.
“Her enthusiasm is amazing and she loved the idea and made all the arrangements with the charity and organised the wonderful models.
“We had a meeting at the Farm and we could see the wonderful work they do and the real difference they make.
“We shot the photos in one day at the Farm and then my wife Tina, also a photographer and graphic designer, put together the calendar.”
Sponsorship from local companies and individuals means it can be sold at £6, with every penny going to CAFT.
Lorraine, a carer and voluntary worker from Alsager, said: “It was quite daunting at first thinking about sponsors but it turned out extremely easy.
“The whole point was we wanted a project to raise awareness of disability and give our models some time to shine and wow have they done that!”
The Children’s Adventure Farm offers some respite and release to children who have disability, terminal illness, who are chronically ill, disadvantaged or bereaved.
800 calendars have been produced and it’s hoped they will raise several thousand pounds.
Nantwich Town has backed the calendar and will be selling the calendar at their home game against Marine at the Weaver Stadium on December 29.
Lorraine’s son Adam will also lead the team out as mascot.
