Crewe & Nantwich RUFC 1sts contributed to an entertaining match away at West Park, despite going down 43-26.
Despite tricky playing conditions, the Vagrants club were more than a match for their fourth-placed hosts.
West Park started the stronger and quickly raced into the lead with tries by Richard Chesworth and Matt Potter.
But Crewe & Nantwich fought back strongly and Killian Roach kept them in touch with a good try in the corner.
Rob Morley and John James capitalised on mistakes to add two more scores for the hosts, as they went 24-5 up at half-time.
Shortly after the restart, West Park added to their score with a converted try from Matt Savage, but again Crewe would not lie down.
They took advantage of penalty decisions before Cowans crashed over for a try.
And then Roach forced his way across the line for his second try of the match, converted by Little.
West Park’s man of the match Tom Fortune settled the home side’s jitters with a score which put the game beyond doubt.
But Crewe & Nantwich were not to be denied a bonus point as Garnell raced in after picking up a loose ball to score their fourth try.
Crewe & Nantwich stay in mid-table eighth in the South Lancs & Cheshire Division 1, with their next match on January 5 at home to Wigan.
