The new Marks & Spencer store in Nantwich is to open on April 10, the company revealed today.
The Simply Food outlet, which is creating 60 new jobs, will open its doors in just five weeks.
The 9,000 sq ft store, on Beam Street, will sell more than 4,500 food and drink products as well as hosiery, cards and beauty products.
It will also feature a 50-seat M&S Café selling Fairtrade tea and coffee, pastries and cakes.
Job adverts have been released and company bosses are now recruiting in time for the launch.
Nantwich store manager Michelle McMurray said: “We are delighted to be opening a Simply Food store in Nantwich which will provide local customers with a great new shopping experience.
“We are really looking forward to welcoming customers through our doors on the 10th April.”
The Nantwich store will also feature a new in-store M&S Bakery, selling speciality breads, pastries and cakes baked on the day.
And the company’s “Shop Your Way” service will also be included at the new outlet, allowing customers to order from the M&S catalogue in-store or online with free next day in-store delivery and collection.
So it’s time again, to “Bitch” about something which has given Sixty people the opportunity of working. Car Parking, be it for Disabled or not is not an issue here. There is a large Car Park adjacent to this facility with enough spaces for disabled people who may find parking adjacent to the Store difficult. Okay I like so many people/Residents know so many Disabled people who have issues in Car Parking within Nantwich. If it is so much of an issue park comfortably in the adjacent Car Park. Then do not apply for a “Parking Fee ” refund, enjoy your coffee in peace. Shop in Marks and Spencers, then get back into your car and off home what’s the issue with Nantwich Residents here. Do YOU want “Your Cake and Eat It??” Just too bloody minded!!!
Hi, where are you advertising these jobs?
Every cafe in Nantwich is often full which says something about why people are coming into the town, better to have a cafe than having sites empty like this was before development and a real eye-sore
I wonder if M&S will have a scheme whereby visitors to the store will get a refund on their parking fee when they spend a certain amount. If not, it will be a dead loss if the retailer expects folk to pay a parking fee for a quick visit to a supermarket (even if Marks is still perceived as “Up Maket”). I’ve noticed that there are very few new parking places. The disabled places are a joke, it will be jolly difficult to reverse out of one of these spaces without hitting the user friendly bollard!. Furthermore why would anyone park-up and pay-up for a supermarket coffee experience, or a restful sit down on the benches in the landscaped area beside the road.
So whilst M&S feeds the community, the community feeds the parking meter. More goodies for hard up Cheshire East Council!
I suppose you could always try ‘walking’ into the town centre. I know – it’s an alien concept for most Nantwich residents.
could you be any more negative!! a store creating jobs is opening in your town!!HOW is this a bad thing JUST HOW!!!!! you are an idiot!!!!! 60 people have a job !!!! but your moaning about parking !!!!! do you not watch the news ??? people are loosing jobs and homes because there are no jobs!! but lets moan about parking that will help!!! you are a moron!!!!!!!!! DONT SHOP THERE THEN!! im sure the staff would be happy you would just moan at the poor staff i bet and put a downer on their happynes about having a job and being able to pay their bills!!!!
I believe the concerns relate to over saturation of coffee shops in the town, which could take trade away from the independent businesses. However, its located at an end of town away from the competition and will be popular with anyone waiting for people collecting prescriptions or visiting at the close-by medical centre.
Totally agree with you here. “Always have something to bitch about”
Fantastic news! Am sure it will be a huge success..
Honestly, do we REALLY need another cafe?!?
I agree with you Amanda – it would be understandable if there was real price competition amongst the cafes but they all seem pretty much the same. I suspect collaboration on pricing.
